The Tanlouka Gold Project is a 105 square kilometre property located within a few hours drive east of the capital city of Ouagadougou. The exploration target is a gold deposit of the Birimian greenstone belt type that has hosted such deposits as the 20 million ounce Obuasi project in neighboring Ghana.

  • Project ready for drilling
  • Birimian greenstone belt type gold target
  • Sampling / Trenching: Up to 7.29 g/T gold over 1.5 m & 2.83 g/T over 7.0 m
  • RAB Drilling: Up to 12.7 g/T gold over 8.0 m
  • Gradient IP and ground magnetic program indicates 1,300 x 200 m zone of high chargeability and resistivity associated with mineralization outlined in previous exploration
  • Numerous artisanal workings on the 105 km2 property
  • Channel has an option to earn 90% interest

Tanlouka exhibits all the hallmarks of a gold mineralized structure and presents an exploration drill target with excellent potential for a new discovery.

The mineralized zones in the surveyed area of Tanlouka appear to be related to brittle-ductile deformation associated with an intrusive margin. Extensive gold-in-soil anomalies were outlined in an area known as the Mankarga Zone, where the majority of artisinal mining is focused, trending roughly north-south and defining three main centres over a distance of about 12 kilometres.

Channel has tested the Mankarga Zone with widely-spaced fences of rotary air-blast ("RAB") shallow drill holes. The best intersection obtained was in the southernmost anomaly with a grade of 12.7 g/T gold over 8.0 metres. It is interesting to note that in a number of these holes, the small drill could not penetrate a mineralized siliceous zone and holes were abandoned before reaching design depth.

An in-fill soil sampling program to a 100 x 50 metre spacing for 37 line km has been completed by Channel over the southern end of the Mankarga Zone as well as trenching, rock sampling and mapping. Soil samples from this program returned up to a maximum of 914 ppb gold and defined three main anomalous zones within the broader regional anomaly boundaries. Channel sampling in one of the artisanal mining cuts on one of the soil anomalies returned an average grade of 2.33 g/T gold over 11.0 metres.

A total of 30 line-kilometres of gradient IP and ground magnetic surveys have been conducted over the Mankarga Zone. The surveys identified northeast and north-northwest trending zones, including a 1,300 metre long by up to 200 metres wide north-northwest trending zone characterized by high chargeability and high resistivity consistent with what Channel believes to be the presence of a siliceous zone of potentially gold-bearing sulphide mineralization.

The gradient IP and ground magnetic surveys have provided a structural framework for surface gold mineralization in the southern part of the property and have defined discrete drill targets. The Company considers the Mankarga Zone to have good potential for a new gold discovery and plans to drill-test the targets.
